flydubai has announced the launch of flights to four new European destinations as part of its ongoing network expansion. Beginning in September 2025, the airline will introduce services to Chișinău in Moldova and Iași in Romania, followed by Riga in Latvia and Vilnius in Lithuania in December. This expansion brings the carrier’s European network to 35 destinations across 20 countries.

With the launch of flights to Iași International Airport (IAS), flydubai becomes the first airline from the United Arab Emirates to offer direct services between Dubai and the northeastern Romanian city. The airline initially entered the Romanian market in 2012 with flights to Bucharest, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the region.

The upcoming routes also mark flydubai’s inaugural entry into the Baltic region. Direct connections to Riga International Airport (RIX) and Vilnius International Airport (VNO) position the airline to serve a broader segment of passengers in previously underserved markets. With these additions, flydubai’s total network will surpass 100 destinations classified as underserved from Dubai.

Commenting on the expansion, Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer at flydubai, stated, “The expansion of our network reflects our unwavering commitment to opening up underserved markets and stimulating free flows of trade and tourism, and we are pleased to see this happen with the launch of our latest destinations in Europe. Today, we have built a diverse network of more than 135 destinations, 75% of which are underserved routes from Dubai. With our new services to Eastern Europe and the Baltic region, we look forward to strengthening the UAE’s trade and cultural links and supporting Dubai’s position as an international aviation hub.”

The strategic growth is in line with the airline’s focus on facilitating greater connectivity between Dubai and emerging regional hubs. flydubai’s network expansion also enhances options for travelers connecting through Dubai on its own services or via its partnership with Emirates.

The new services are expected to provide a boost to trade and tourism flows between the UAE and the newly added markets. flydubai’s latest move aligns with Dubai’s broader strategy to strengthen its role as a global transportation and business hub. – By MENA Newswire News Desk.
