Beginning early this year, certain search engine made some changes to their search ranking, the reason cited is that google wanted to provide more relevant results, according to their official blog, this change impacts 11.8% organic search results, in another word, google thinks about 12% of it’s search results are really bad and need to manipulated. Google started this change almost one year ago, and recently I see some of my ranks were lowered considerably, on the other hand almost all keywords promoted by contextual links are not affected, and a few of them even gained a few positions, it’s almost a sure thing that plain link building loses all it’s attraction, at least in the eye of google.
So what exactly is linking campaign the old way? There are a lot of SEO company out there are doing this, they add your links to those linking websites without context, the only updates on those websites are the new links, it’s safe to assume all of them are trash, we call these sites link spamming sites. Now google algorithm probably will weed out these sites, any links on them will be affected too.
Maybe a few examples will make it clear. In the very beginning, I didn’t know better, I needed to rank the keyword, Drum Lifter, of course with old way of link building, lately I figured that every site in the campaign had way too many links, worst yet, those sites had no content at all. I would give credit where credit is due, this linking strategy worked, lately the keyword link stayed on the first page for a while, this was the case until google made the change. Something opposite happened to this keyword, chain pullers, most back links for this keyword are from articles and posts, not too many plain links have been built, you can imagine how this keyword ranks. Now contextual links win the battle, then what? It all boils down to content, when you create unique and quality content, your rank will improve over time, since search engines are another kind of readers. It’s never too late to build good blogs for business purpose, such as this interesting blog, baby strollers , I didn’t put too much effort into it from start, but I never stopped posting, you probably think this site won’t rank a all, in actuality my site is ranking high for some nice search phrases. Now you can see, quality article marketing is much better than plain link building. Now imagine you have your own blog network, such as Vehicle First Aid Kit, then you will have a powerful weapon in your SEO arsenal.
Bottom line is that you should create great content, publish and share with people, promote your business with the content, this strategy will prevail in short or long term. Persistence and patience are the keys to success, long term strategy is required to improve anything of significance, be it your business or search rankings, let’s keep building and maintaining our blogs until end of the day. When publisinh articles, I prefer ezine, new article will be indexed within an hour if not minutes, of course your posts on some blogs will be indexed real fast as well, I believe you should see for yourself, take Lift Sling as an example, good writing, interesting content, indexed and cached, this article serves it’s purpose well.
We’re not finished yet, please remeber, we have hot social media now, no one can afford to not using them. The Twitter tools is a wordpress plugin, you can install it, then go ahead register a new twitter account and app, link your blog to twitter, you should choose to post a tweet for every new post, it’s easy and really useful, it’s a big loss if you don’t use this tool.
I just completed my first week with Truline and I am very impressed so far. All of the drivers I’ve had contact with have not one bad thing to say…
With the trucker 5000 mounted on the roof of the cab would I benefit more with a shorter shaft or longer shaft or does it matter ?
